Privacy at Bold Lens

Photographs and reviews

When you submit, we store your chosen display name and camera, optional email, Instagram handle, mount, photograph, caption, review and publication permission in the site’s hosted database and file storage. Submissions start private. Only the content and credit approved by Bold Lens are displayed publicly; email addresses and Instagram handles are not published or added to marketing. Sharing permission is optional. Submissions without it, or with only a name and camera, cannot be published. You may request removal by email. The upload form resizes photos and removes embedded metadata. Uploaded images are also checked on the server.

Optional location autofill

Choosing Use approximate location sends your IP address directly to BigDataCloud to suggest country, city, region and postcode. No device coordinates or browser location permission are requested. See its privacy policy. VPNs and mobile networks may give an inaccurate location. Check all fields and add your street and building details, or enter the whole address manually. Bold Lens stores only the address you review and submit through checkout.

Checkout and shipping

While the site is in sandbox mode, use fictional customer information and Stripe test cards. When you calculate a final delivery total, your selected mount, name, email, phone and delivery address are sent to the server. A supported delivery quote saves those details privately with an expiry. The reviewed address is fixed for the payment and sent to Stripe in a per-order customer record. Stripe collects card and billing information on its hosted page. Verified payment and delivery details are kept privately for order administration. Bold Lens never receives your card number or security code. Thailand Post rate requests use only destination and packed weight. An explicitly authorized carrier label action sends sender, recipient and customs details to Thailand Post. Real paid-order label creation is currently locked; a separate, limited demo action uses fictional details only. Label creation does not itself prove physical posting.

Delivery requests awaiting review

If import charges need confirmation, your chosen mount and delivery/contact details are saved privately so Bold Lens can review the service and prepare a complete quote. A private bearer link lets you return to the request; keep it private. Requests are available for seven days; approved postage quotes expire after fifteen minutes. Expiry blocks use of a quote and is not automatic deletion of the stored record. Quote requests do not reserve stock, charge you or add you to marketing. Customer email delivery is manual. Contact us to request access or deletion of your submitted information.

Access and storage

Order links are private bearer links: keep them to yourself. Only authorized staff can review submissions or prepare hosted order drafts. The site uses limited, hashed request counters to prevent upload abuse; it does not add advertising trackers. Hosting, browser and payment providers may keep their own operational records. Photographs and submissions remain stored until the owner deletes them, including rejected or unpublished submissions. Subscribers remain on the list until they unsubscribe. After withdrawal we remove the optional name and retain only the email, consent/suppression dates and technical preference record needed to prevent further marketing. Paid-order records are protected from automatic deletion while accounting retention requirements are reviewed.

Aggregate pageviews

We count page loads on the lens,checkout and delivery-price pages in our own hosted database. Analytics stores only the page category,UTC date and daily total for a rolling90-day window. It does not store cookies,visitor identifiers,IP addresses,referrers,query strings,private order links or customer details. Counts are approximate pageviews,not unique visitors. Browsers signalling Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control are not counted. Hosting providers may retain separate operational logs as described above. Analytics totals are available only to authorized staff.

Optional email updates

Joining the email-update list is separate from buying a lens or submitting a photograph. The optional, unchecked permission records your email, optional name, consent wording version and request time. You join immediately when you submit with the permission checked. Signup and withdrawn dates are recorded. Older requests that did not complete confirmation remain pending until the person signs up again or confirms their original request. Newsletters are sent manually; no automated email delivery provider is connected. Every update must include a personal unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops marketing updates and does not stop essential order communication. We do not add checkout or gallery emails to this list automatically.

Owner exports

Authorized staff can export order and gallery records and the confirmed subscriber list for operations. These files contain personal information and must be stored privately. Suppression keeps withdrawn addresses out of future marketing exports. Access and export actions are recorded. The owner can permanently delete submissions in the studio. Downloads

Private exports and label downloads save files to your computer. Protect them if they contain real information. The tracking page requires a private access code; keep its link to yourself.
